Bird-Day Party
Celebrate our avian ambassadors at the Bird-Day Party! Every bird at the Carolina Raptor Center gets a year older on January 1st, so we’re throwing a fun-filled celebration. Join us on January 18th for activities, games, and special programs honoring our feathered friends.
Explore the Raptor Trail to discover engaging and educational activities for all ages. Get creative by helping make enrichment for the birds to enjoy during the event or by contributing to our Bird-day card. Throughout the trail, interactive games will keep everyone entertained while learning all about raptors.
Scheduled Programs
- 11:30 am – Meet a Raptor: Get up close with one of our avian ambassadors and learn about their unique adaptations.
- 1:00 pm – Fly-By: Watch our incredible avian ambassadors show off what makes them special.
- 2:30 pm – Hospital Keeper Chat: Meet the dedicated staff caring for the patients in our Raptor Hospital and learn how they treat these unique birds.

Why do the avian ambassadors have the same birthday?
For many of our birds, it can be difficult or even impossible to know their exact birthdays. In the avian care world, it's customary to advance a bird's age every year on January 1st. Since many bird species are born in the spring, this allows us to have a rough estimate of how old they are without knowing their exact birthday!
