The Carolina Raptor Center (CRC) is pleased to announce the appointment of Gabor Zsuppan as its new Executive Director.
Zsuppan, a seasoned science museum leader, brings more than 25 years of experience in formal and informal learning, visitor-centered design, exhibit development, and cross-functional leadership. Most recently serving as Senior Director of STEM and Museum Experiences at Discovery Place, he has played a key role in shaping learning philosophy, developing interactive exhibitions, managing grant-funded initiatives, and driving visitor engagement across multiple museum sites.
“I am beyond excited and proud to join the team at Carolina Raptor Center,” says Zsuppan. “As a world-renowned leader in raptor rehabilitation and an amazing resource for the region, I look forward to helping to carry forth its mission of conservation and education.”
Board Chair Sherri Belfield shared her enthusiasm for Zsuppan’s selection and the future of CRC under his leadership.
“Gabor’s rare combination of expertise in science museum management, education, and facility planning, along with his talent for creating transformative visitor experiences, made him the clear choice to lead CRC at this pivotal moment. Under his leadership, we will deepen our impact, strengthen our education programs, expand our reach, reinforce our reputation as a national leader in raptor conservation and rehabilitation, and position CRC for an exciting new chapter of growth and innovation.
Zsuppan’s selection follows an extensive search led by Next Stage’s Josh Jacobson, who also provided Interim Leadership Services to CRC throughout 2025.
