International vulture awareness day
Join us on Saturday, September 7 for a celebration of nature's clean-up crew: vultures!
This family friendly event features unique programs, shows, and activities to help visitors of all ages fall in love with vultures. Learn what makes these birds special and meet our ambassador vultures at this one-of-a-kind event.
Bald is beautiful and bald is free! Anyone bald gets FREE admission.
Event Schedule:
- 10:30 AM - California Condor Conservation Presentation by Dr. Todd Katzner
- 11:30 AM - Meet a Raptor: Learn what makes raptors unique in this educational program with an avian ambassador.
- 12:15 PM - Vulture Feeding: Learn about vulture diets as an avian ambassador enjoys their meal.
- 1:00 PM - Fly-By: Feel the wind in your hair as an avian ambassador shows off what they do best: fly!
- 1:45 PM - Vulture Feeding: Learn about vulture diets as an avian ambassador enjoys their meal.
- 2:30 PM - Keeper Chat: Learn about Igor, the Black Vulture who lives on the Raptor Trail.
All programs and activities are included with admission.
