Get to know our avian ambassadors through a variety of programs with our expert staff. All onsite programs are included with admission unless otherwise noted. Check-in with our Visitor Center staff to find out where that day's programs are located.

Program Descriptions
Fly-By
There's nothing quite like feeling the rush of air as a bird flies over your head! Experience this exhilarating moment during our Fly-Bys, where a free-flighted avian ambassador shows off the natural behaviors that make them special. The birds starring in Fly-Bys vary. Fly-Bys last roughly 15 minutes.

Bird Show
Experience the awe-inspiring beauty of nature up close at the our Bird Shows. Watch as our team of avian ambassadors showcase their incredible talents, while our trainers share facts you'd never expect about these magnificent birds (and get you to laugh in the process). Don't miss the chance to witness our avian ambassadors steal the show!
Bird Shows are offered Wednesday to Saturday from Memorial Day to Labor Day.
Keeper Chat
Chat with a member of our expert staff about how they work with birds at the Carolina Raptor Center. Topics vary by day, so you might watch a trainer work with an avian ambassador one day and hear from a member of our hospital team about the tools they use for rehabilitation the next. Keeper Chats last approximately 20 minutes.
Keeper Chats occur twice a day on Wednesdays through Sundays, except on Saturdays when there is only a Keeper Chat in the afternoon.
Meet a Raptor
What actually is a raptor? Find out with a member of our education staff while meeting one of the raptors who call the Carolina Raptor Center home. This seated educational program is engaging for all ages and provides the opportunity to learn more about our avian ambassadors in a unique setting. Meet a Raptor programs last approximately 20 minutes.

Behind the Scenes Hospital Tour
Our Raptor Hospital treats 800 to 1000 sick, injured, and orphaned birds each year. In our Behind the Scenes tours, you can get a peak into what it takes to care for these feathered patients. Learn how we prepare food, provide treatment, and ensure every patient receives the best possible care. Space is limited. Only open to ages 11 and up.
Hospital Tours are offered on Mondays from Memorial Day to Labor Day.
