OUR QUEST CAMPAIGN

OUR QUEST CAMPAIGN

THERE IS NO DENYING IT – THE RAPTOR CENTER IS UNLIKE ANY OTHER PLACE IN MECKLENBURG COUNTY. IN FACT, IT IS UNLIKE ANY OTHER ATTRACTION IN THE SOUTHEASTERN UNITED STATES. THE RAPTOR CENTER IS ONE OF JUST A HANDFUL OF CENTERS DEDICATED TO THE CONSERVATION OF RAPTORS IN NORTH AMERICA. IT IS AN ORGANIZATION DESERVING OF A FACILITY AS UNIQUE AS THE PROGRAMMING IT PROVIDES.

THE RAPTOR CENTER AT QUEST

For almost 40 years, the Raptor Center has been dedicated to igniting imaginations by connecting them with birds. Our ultimate goal is to activate people to become more environmentally conscious and protect the world around them.

The organization has served hundreds of thousands of people both on-site at its campus in Latta Nature Preserve and throughout the Southeast.

OUR TURN TO BUILD AT QUEST

For the last ten years, the Raptor Center has immersed itself in creating Quest, a state-of-the-art environmental education center owned by Mecklenburg County Park and Recreation. That dream has been realized –the facility opened on July 7, 2021. Now we are turning our attention to building a new Raptor Center at Quest.

The Raptor Center at Quest will originate in the new Quest facility and spread out through almost 30 acres of outdoor exhibits and experiences. At completion, it will display and care for more than 40 species of birds of prey from around the world, the centerpiece of our environmental education mission.

The 200-seat Duke Energy Amphitheater will be home to stunning bird shows and a wide variety of community engagement events. These new facilities will support our educational programs, our visitor experience, special events, and a myriad of new nose-to-beak opportunities that are emerging from the imagination and ingenuity of our professional bird training staff.

Be on the lookout for ways to engage with the development of this new facility for the Raptor Center. We know that you will want to be in the know about its progress and its amenities. We can’t wait to open the doors and welcome you in.
