Barn owls can locate prey by sound alone. Research done in captivity show that with no light source, in a closed room, owls were able to capture live prey.

Scholarships
Thanks to the generosity of The Goodrich Company, Carolina Raptor Center is able to offer a limited number of environmental education scholarships each year. These scholarships are available to Mecklenburg County public school groups that meet certain requirements defined by the Equity Plus program.
