Title:
President

Job Summary:
This positions reports directly to the Board and is responsible for directing the organization to its primary objectives of environmental education and the conservation of birds of prey through public education, the rehabilitation of injured and orphaned raptors, and research.

Anticipated Salary Range:
$80,000 - $90,000

Essential Responsibilities:

Management and Oversight:

  • » Responsible for daily operations of CRC
  • » Accountable for creating a positive culture aimed at overall achievement of the CRC mission
  • » Ensure financial performance of the organization
  • » Supervise employees and volunteers of CRC

Fundraising and Capital Development:

  • » Pursue sponsorships, donations (monetary and in kind), and membership from companies, individuals and grants in the local, regional and national community
  • » Design and rollout of a planned giving program for CRC

Strategic Development:

  • » Create, with Board and staff support, and oversee the implementation of strategic projects
  • » Lead the preparation and execution of a long term facilities plan
  • » Coordinate enterprise-wide marketing initiatives to support the CRC mission

Public Relations and Civic Outreach:

  • » Seek to raise visibility of CRC in the local, regional and national community
  • » Explore ways to increase and leverage media coverage for CRC
  • » Serve as the lead presenter at civic programs and functions that educate the community about CRC and its mission

Partnerships and Collaborations:

  • » Seek opportunities to collaborate with other non-profit organizations
  • » Continue to develop and leverage relationships with Mecklenburg County Park & Recreation department, as well as other governmental organizations

Report to and serve as a liaison to the Board of Directors and Board of Trustees:

Education/Training:

  • » Bachelor Degree required; Advanced Degree preferred

Experience:

  • » Five years management experience required
  • » Non-Profit experience (volunteer or employment) required
